Georgia Bukin: 5 stars Around the World in a Cement Boat Dream it build it. Love and commitment builds more than a cement boat when this family is challenged with emotional decisions implicating the journey’s end. This book would be a great read for anyone who loves suspense. ------------ skait: 5 stars A wonderful tale of true adventure for the whole family! Well written, nice descriptions, plenty of entertaining characters and situations, humor, discovery, suspense, and heart. All the more engaging because this story is real. Everyone in our family enjoyed it so much we had a hard time putting the book down. There's also a helpful glossary in the back for us landlubbers. And for curious souls, a section of questions and activities to explore. A thoroughly enjoyable read. ----------- Robert Pinto: 5 stars I loved this book! Well written and a nail biter for sure! I couldn't wait to see how the author and her family were going to survive the many adventures they encountered. This autobiography included vocabulary for unfamiliar terms as well as questions for the reader to discuss with others. I am glad to have this book in our library. I have no doubt my teen will enjoy it as well. Perfect for all ages of readers. Homeschoolers will love it! One of the best nonfiction books I have read! Thank you Cheryl for writing this book! Btw, I could not put this book down. Very engaging book by the author. -------------- E. Brover: 5 stars I did not know what to expect, but read the book in three sittings. The stories and life lessons were fabulous. Very adventurous family and incredible memories. I even enjoyed pondering the book's discussion questions with myself. Highly recommend as a Book Club selection. ------------- Nancy Kvapil: 5 stars Could not wait to get my hands on this book. I read it almost straight through because I didn't want to put it down. It has kept me riveted and longing for adventures of my own. Don't know if I could do what this family did, but I was thoroughly entertained. The fact that it is a true story makes it even better. I will be reading this to my kids next. |
